Wisconsin’s third wolf hunting season opens this coming Wednesday, October 15, 2014 running until Februay 28, 2015 or until hunters, trappers and wolf hound hunters reach the statewide wolf kill of 150 animals.

This years wolf hunt opens in spite of lack of citizen input, scientific input, and Cathy Stepp’s (head of WDNR) lack of a moral compass. http://wolvesofdouglascountywisconsin.com/2014/10/02/third-wolf-hunt-set-to-begin-with-no-permanent-rule-in-place-to-monitor-use-of-dogs/

The WDNR has created a climate of hostility towards a once endangered  species by catering to special interest fringe hunters. Wisconsin allows the use of free ranging dogs to chase down wolves as part of the hunt get the FAQs on wolf hounding here http://wolvesofdouglascountywisconsin.com/2014/08/13/wodcw-faq-sheet-on-wolf-hound-hunting/

The photograph was taken a few days ago in Black River Falls, WI of a hound hunters truck with “hostile” to wolves bumper stickers on the back of it.

This years wolf hunt will be monitored by a citizens group called “Great Lakes Wolf Patrol” their press release here http://wolfpatrol.org/author/wolfpatrol/ We want to remind citizens that wolf patrol is working to legally monitor this wolf hunt.

This blogger wonders when WDNR administration will ever listen to the public in-put. Or will voters sweep the WDNR administration out of office this November 4th?
