THREE FORKS, Mont. -
Fish, Wildlife and Parks agents are checking out reports of wolves in the Three Forks area.
The superintendent of Three Forks schools says a parent called and claimed to have seen a wolf. The school then posted a warning on its Facebook page.

FWP officials say, while there have been reports, they have not seen any signs of wolves themselves.
"At this point, we're telling folks to certainly be cautious. Watch your kids at the bus stop, leash your pets for now and keep them close, because there certainly could be a wolf or wolves in the area, there could be wolves anywhere in southwest Montana at this point," said Andrea Jones, an FWP spokeswoman in Bozeman. "But we don't have direct, first hand evidence at this point of a wolf or wolves in the area."

Jones says wolves can sometimes be confused with coyotes or some domestic dogs like huskies at a distance.
